| Chanel is among the most recognizable perfumes in the
world, especially famous for its initial production of Chanel N°
5 back in 1921 in France. At that time, the words ‘mystery’
and ‘opulence’ were spoken in connection with this ‘rare,
mythical’ fragrance, selected by Gabrielle Chanel. The
number 5 designation derives from this particular fragrance
being the fifth one presented to Gabrielle Chanel. The heady
fragrance of Chanel is achieved with an aromatic blend of
primarily jasmines, along with roses, ylang ylang, and
sandalwood. Transcending time and countries, Chanel N° 5
was immortalized by American actress Marilyn Monroe, who –
when asked what she wore to bed – replied, “Two drops of
Chanel N° 5.” While not nearly as famous as its Chanel N° 5,
other Chanel fragrances include Chance, Allure, Coco,
Cristalle, and Chanel N° 19. |
