Canadian businesswoman Florence Nightingale Graham (December 31, 1878 – October 18, 1966), known in business as Elizabeth Arden, launched her own cosmetics brand in New York City in 1912. The brand introduced make-up to the everyday woman, at a time when it was only known to be worn by stage performers. The brand attracted many famous followers in the 50s and 60s, including Jackie Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe and Queen Elizabeth II. Elizabeth Arden introduced her fragrance line with the launch of its signature perfume, Red Door. Today the brand produces numerous fragrances including, Blue Grass, Splendor and Sunflowers. |
